Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 3, 2026 · Effective: June 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how AI Generated Inc. (operating the “Reci AI” app; “Reci AI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use the Reci AI mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Service”). It also explains the choices and rights you have.
We are the “controller” (and a “business” under U.S. state privacy laws) responsible for your personal information. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Service.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to personal information we process through the Reci AI app on iPhone and iPad and its companion experiences (such as Apple Watch and Apple TV), our share extension, and any related online services that link to it. It does not apply to third-party platforms (for example, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Facebook, or recipe websites) that you use to find content; those services have their own privacy practices.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to provide the Service. The categories you trigger depend on how you use Reci AI.
2.1 Information you provide
- Recipe content you import. Links you paste, content you share into the app, typed or pasted text, and images you capture or upload (photos of food or plates, restaurant menus, cookbook pages, handwritten notes, and screenshots).
- Dietary preferences and goals. Goals, dietary patterns, allergies, intolerances, household size, and similar inputs you choose to record. Some of this may be considered sensitive information (for example, health-related dietary needs); we process it only to personalize the Service for you.
- Account information (optional). If you create an account, we receive an account identifier and, depending on the method, an email address through Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or email one-time-passcode sign-in. With Sign in with Apple you may choose to hide your email, in which case we receive a private relay address.
- Support and feedback. Information in messages you send to support@reciai.co, including any attachments.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage and diagnostics. Feature usage, in-app events, settings, crash reports, and performance data used to operate and improve the Service.
- Device and technical data. Device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, and a general region inferred from your IP address. We do not collect precise (GPS) location.
- Identifiers. App-generated and device-provided identifiers used for authentication, sync, diagnostics, and fraud prevention.
- Purchase data. Subscription status and purchase events. Apple processes your payment; we do not receive or store your full payment-card number.
2.3 Camera and photos
Scanning a plate, a menu, or a recipe page uses your camera or the specific photos you select. We access only the images you choose and use them to extract recipe and nutrition information. We do not browse or upload your photo library.
2.4 Information we do not collect
We do not knowingly collect precise location, your contacts, biometric identifiers, or special-category data beyond the dietary/health-related preferences you voluntarily enter. We do not use your data for third-party advertising and we do not sell your personal information.
3. Sources of information
We obtain personal information (a) directly from you, (b) automatically from your device as you use the Service, and (c) from service providers acting on our behalf (for example, authentication and subscription providers that confirm your sign-in or purchase status).
4. How we use information
- Convert imported content into clean, structured, cookable recipes.
- Estimate nutrition and generate Fit and Cookable scores.
- Adapt recipes (one-tap transformations) and build grocery lists and meal plans.
- Generate step images for Cook Mode when source images are unavailable.
- Personalize recommendations to your goals, preferences, and pantry.
- Sync your library across your devices and provide backups where enabled.
- Operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service and develop new features.
- Process and validate subscriptions and prevent fraud, abuse, and misuse.
- Provide customer support and send service and transactional communications.
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms.
We do not use your personal content to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
5. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases:
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Providing core features you request (import, nutrition, scores, grocery, Cook Mode, sync) | Performance of a contract |
| Personalizing the Service using your dietary preferences and allergies | Consent (you provide this data voluntarily); withdrawable at any time |
| Securing the Service, preventing fraud, improving features, and diagnostics | Legitimate interests |
| Processing subscriptions and keeping records | Performance of a contract; legal obligation |
| Responding to legal requests and protecting rights | Legal obligation; legitimate interests |
6. AI processing
Reci AI uses artificial intelligence to read recipe content, normalize nutrition, adapt recipes, and generate step images. To deliver a requested feature, the relevant content you submit (such as recipe text, links, or images) may be transmitted to trusted AI processors that perform the computation on our behalf. We send only the data needed for that feature.
We use these processors under terms intended to keep your content confidential and that do not permit them to use your personal content to train their general-purpose models, except as needed to provide the requested service. AI-generated output — including nutrition values, scores, transformations, and images — is provided for general wellness and convenience and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Nutrition is an estimate unless based on a barcode or confirmed ingredient amounts, and photo-based estimates display a confidence level. The Service does not provide medical, dietary, or allergy advice; always confirm ingredients yourself for safety.
7. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose personal information only as follows:
- Service providers / processors. Vendors that process data on our behalf under contract (cloud hosting, AI processing, authentication, analytics/diagnostics, and subscription management). See the list below.
- At your direction. When you share a recipe or result card, the content you choose to share is disclosed to your selected recipients or platforms.
- Legal, safety, and rights. When reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, safety, or security of users, the public, or Reci AI.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.
8. Service providers we rely on
Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy policy. The current categories and key providers are:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Apple | App distribution, Sign in with Apple, iCloud/CloudKit sync, and subscription billing |
| Google (Firebase) | Authentication, app configuration, and diagnostics |
| OpenAI | Text and vision models for recipe parsing, nutrition normalization, and recipe adaptation |
| Fal.ai | Image generation for Cook Mode step images |
| Subscription management (e.g., RevenueCat) and cloud hosting | Validating in-app purchases and operating backend infrastructure |
We may update our providers over time. Where required, we enter into data-processing agreements that bind providers to appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
9. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this Policy:
- Recipes, preferences, and account data: retained while your account is active or your content is saved, and deleted within a reasonable period after you delete the content or your account.
- Scanned images: processed to produce your recipe; retained only as needed to provide and improve the feature, then deleted or de-identified.
- Diagnostics and usage data: retained for a limited period for reliability, security, and analytics.
- Records we must keep by law (for example, certain transaction records): retained for the required period.
10. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
11. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can also:
- Edit your profile and preferences and remove saved recipes in the app.
- Revoke camera or photo permissions in iOS Settings at any time.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.
- Delete your account (see Account deletion).
To exercise a right, email support@reciai.co. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
12. U.S. state privacy rights (California and other states)
Residents of California and certain other U.S. states have specific rights, including the right to know/access, delete, correct, and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and to limit use of “sensitive personal information.” We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would require an opt-out.
In the prior 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information, used for the purposes described in Section 4 and disclosed only to the service providers listed in Section 8:
| Category (CCPA/CPRA) | Examples | Collected |
|---|---|---|

| Sensitive information | Dietary/health-related preferences and allergies you enter | Yes (with your consent; not sold/shared) |

To exercise California rights, email support@reciai.co. You may use an authorized agent. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our response. California “Shine the Light”: we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.
13. Account and data deletion
You can delete your account and associated personal data from within the app (in Settings) or by emailing support@reciai.co. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except information we must retain by law or to resolve disputes and enforce agreements.
14. International data transfers
We are based in the United States and may process and store information in the United States and other countries that may have different data-protection laws than your own. Where we transfer personal information from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) or rely on another lawful transfer mechanism.
15. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, such as 16 in parts of the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
16. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice within the app or by other reasonable means before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
